Teams with in America compete in the National Football League or the NFL for the title of Super Bowl Championship. Schools in America compete in the college ball. They play for the title of Bowl. The main game is the Rose Bowl. Schools put in lots of efforts to win the title of Rose Bowl. There are certain other games also, though not as significant as Rose Bowl. These are the Cotton Bowl or Orange Bowl.

The main college Bowls are organized in the Southern parts of the country. Football is an aggressive game and can thus hurt a lot of people. However it has got its own advantages. The players who play for their country get millions of dollars for doing that. Some players also sign contracts with certain organizations or teams. Under such contracts, a player is supposed to play for the specific team for a particular period of time.

The game may appear complicated to those who are not very familiar with it. Each team tries to get the ball into the opposite team's goal. That is how the teams score. The teams can make as many points they can and for this they have four quarters. A team is awarded 6 points if it fails to make it to the goal line of the other team. They can then get a field goal and for this they need to kick the ball through 2 posts. They can gain 2 extra points this way. Players are supposed to wear protective gears when they are playing. There are a number of fouls or penalties during a football game and this leads to unusual delays. There are also time outs. Due to all these time breaks, a football game can easily last for 2-3 hours.
